In ZnT you can also appreciate some interesting subjects but aren’t as evident as in Tokyo Ghoul. The thing is that the show only focus on these problems in two or three episodes. In Tokyo Ghoul you have the internal struggle of a boy that is ghoul and human but at the same time neither of those, the political and social backstory in this war between both factions and if ghouls should be considered equals as humans. The two has some very interesting thematics: Tokyo Ghoul has some frankly ridiculous moments that are just there for comic relief and doesn't feel appropriate. ZnT defies your suspension of disbelief by introducing elements that aren’t consistent with what you have been watching. One and the other have “silly” moments, but of different type. Now:īoth shows start strong, then decline and eventually end pretty good, but whereas all of what happens in ZnK feels relevant (even if you don’t like it) Tokyo Ghoul has at least one arc that takes too long and is kind of boring.
